Jaguar launches second generation Jaguar XF sedan in India at Rs 49.5 lakhs

Jaguar Land Rover India launched the new Jaguar XF sedan in five variants starting from ₹ 49.50 lakh (ex-Delhi) in Mumbai.

The new Jaguar XF is powered by the new Ingenium 2.0 l 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that delivers a power output of 132 kWand is upto 20 kg lighter than equivalent previous generation engines.

Jaguar XF’s lightweight aluminum architecture contributes towards a weight saving of up to 190 kg over the previous generation XF, the company said.

Compared with the previous generation XF the rear ‘knee-room’ has increased by 24 mm and Rear ‘leg-room’ has increased by 15 mm, said the company.

The new XF also gets the mood lighting with ten colour options.

The diesel variants include the Diesel Pure, Diesel Prestige and Diesel Portfolio powered by 2.01 l (132KW) engine whereas the petrol variants include Petrol Prestige and Petrol Portfolio powered by 2.01 l (177KW) engine.

The variants are priced between ₹ 49.50 lakhs and 61.85 Lakhs.

Ingenium is Jaguar Land Rover’s new breed of engines with advanced technology, all-aluminium construction and reduced CO2 emissions, the company added.

Upto 20 kg lighter than equivalent previous generation engines, the Ingenium diesel engine is intrinsically more efficient, the company said.

“With the introduction of the Ingenium diesel engine, the XF becomes the first Jaguar in India to get this much awaited power-train.”

The deliveries of XF are scheduled to begin from end of September 2016 and customers can now book one through any of the 23 authorised Jaguar retailers located near them, said the company.
