Yamaha August sales up 24% in India

Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. has registered a growth of 24% in domestic sales during August 2014 compared to a year ago.

The company sold 53,242 units in August 2014 as against 42,995 units sold in August last year in the domestic market.

“Our FZ series is the second largest selling brand in the deluxe segment,” said Roy Kurian, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India.

“The launches of FZ Version 2.0 and FZ-S Version 2.0 have further spurred our sales. Moreover, ahead of the festive season we are quite confident about continuing our growth story in the coming months as well with our innovative product line up and exciting customer engagement initiatives,” he added.

August has seen a pick up in sales of automobiles in India, with companies such as Maruti Suzuki and Honda Cars reporting 50-80% increases for some of their leading models.
