TVS Motor Company recorded 6% increase in total sales in January, compared to a 2% increase seen in December.
January sales was 186,313 units against 175,931 units recorded in the month of January 2013. December sales was 159,495 units.
The company’s total exports grew by 39% with sales increasing from 20,723 units in the month of January 2013 to 28,875 units in January 2014. In December, TVS’ exports were up 27% at 25,797 units.
Two wheeler exports registered a growth of 35% with sales increasing from 17,406 units in January 2013 to 23,438 units in January 2014. December number was 20,694 units.
Total two wheeler sales increased by 5% from 171,513 units recorded in January 2013 to 179,576 units in January 2014. Domestic two wheeler sales accounted for 156,138 units in January 2014 as against 154,107 units registered in the month of January 2013.
Scooters sales grew by 19% increasing from 37,946 units in January 2013 to 45,198 units in January 2014. Motorcycles sales grew marginally increasing from 64,555 units in the month of January 2013 to 65,449 units in January 2014.
Three wheeler sales of the company registered an increase of 52%, growing from 4,418 units in January 2013 to 6,737 units in January 2014.

TOYOTA KIRLOSKAR
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sold 10,910 units in Jan 2014 compared to 13,329 units in Jan 2013. The company exported 1,530 units of Etios series last month.
Mr. N Raja, Senior Vice – President, Sales and Marketing said: “The market continues to be sluggish and the market sentiments remain low.”
He said Toyota will be unveiling an all new Corolla Altis and Etios Cross at the Auto Expo 2014. “We look forward to delighting our customers with these new vehicles that are built on the QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) Standards. The Auto Expo is expected to bring about excitement and will help improve customer sentiments.”
