Shoppers Stop to sell clothes via Snapdeal

Shoppers Stop, one of India’s oldest organized retailer, has tied up with Snapdeal, One of India’s largest online marketplaces, to sell its merchandise through a flagship Shoppers Stop store on the online portal.

“This partnership will leverage Shoppers Stop’s unparalleled brand assortment and Snapdeal’s pan India reach to create a superlative and holistic omni-channel retail experience for consumers across the country,” the companies said.

The Shoppers Stop store on Snapdeal will be curated keeping in mind the finer nuances of the Shoppers Stop brand, the companies said.

“The layout of the brand store will be customized to offer the signature world-class Shoppers Stop shopping experience to users. The flagship Shoppers Stop store on Snapdeal will feature a wide array of brands and products across various fashion categories like apparel, footwear and accessories. The brand store will enable Shoppers Stop to manage their product selection, promotions and launches as per their need/requirement and basis the analytics shared by Snapdeal.”

The tie-up comes in the wake of the company’s decor unit, HomeStop, tying up with Flipkart.

Customers ordering from Shoppers Stop brand store on Snapdeal will be able to pick up the ordered products or get the same delivered from the nearest Shoppers Stop store. As a pilot, this facility will be launched first in North India. This will extend to other regions of the country over the next 12 months.

Increasingly, the online-retailers are trying to bring an offline aspect for their services. Flipkart, for example, recently announced that it is setting up ‘experience centers’ for its products across the country.

Under the tie-up announced today, consumers will also be able to exchange or return the products bought on the Shoppers Stop brand store on Snapdeal at any of the 74 Shoppers Stop stores across 35 cities.
