itel Mobiles sells 1.6 mln handsets in October

itelitel Mobiles said it sold 1.6 million handsets in the month of October with its marketing strategies and 100 day replacement warranty offer.

The total mobile phones sold in one month in India is around 15 mln.

“Our marketing strategies and service proposition of 100-day replacement warranty offered on itel Mobile products have driven great growth for the brand in a short span of 6 months. itel achieved yet another target by selling 1.6 million handsets in just October”, said Sudhir Kumar, CEO, Itel Mobile India.

The company, since its India launch earlier this year, Have sold more than 5.4 million handsets till date and the brand has secured the 6th position in the feature phone category by capturing 2% market share in less than a quarter, it said quoting a report by the research organization CyberMedia Research.

itel Mobile has also been named as the market leader in eight major Indian geographies by Cyber Media Research.

According to the report, the brand has emerged as the top favourite amongst consumers in the markets of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir ahead of competition.

itel was launched in 2007 by its parent company – Transsion Holdings.

The company has sold over 70 million itel devices since its inception and has a total of six manufacturing facilities.
